Hello,
I am going to do a fresh install of 11.10 later today (when it is available). My question is can I simply keep and mount my existing /home partition during installation?

Well, I tried it anyway, moving the files in the same way on all PC's caused little disruption. I don't know what would have happened if I had changed on one PC, then let the other's sync...
Hello,
I have recently moved all my pictures (nearly 20GB) from one Ubuntu One folder to another. This just worked and files were not resent so I am happy with everything on Ubuntu One.

Any ideas? Got stuck again this morning, when another user had logged on first and the network disconnected, I had to reboot the machine to gain access to the network manager again...

Hello,
I tried updating the ath9k driver on my machine to the compat-wireless 3.0 stable release as this looked like the very latest stable driver for ath9k on Ubuntu 11.04.
Unfortunatley I...

Anyone got any ideas? I want the whole network management icon to be available for all users...
Yes, I have tried this, it makes no difference. The whole network applet is unavailable for the second person to log on.
Hello,
I am trying to work out if the network manager (the icon in the top right) can be enabled for all users logged on, not just the first.
Sometimes my router drops the connection and it is...
Any ideas out there?
Did you try this? Any success?
Thanks for the reply!
I was under the impression that a separate /home partition was the way to go if you wanted multiple distributions on the same machine, however this sounds like it may cause...
That doesn't look like the same problem. My laptop can conect to many hotspots, wifi is generally working, just not with motorola hotspots.
Yup, yahoo works for me too. Well I am not too bothered about the provider I use. Seems like there is a problem with Google here.
Fix works for me, though, so I'll mark this as solved. Thanks!
OK, great, I'll give it a go. Just wanted to make sure there was no reason NOT to do it...
Hello,
I have a couple of PCs running Ubuntu 11.04, and one by one the indicator-weather icons have stopped working. I have restarted the application, restarted the machines, for several weeks...
Hello,
Just a general question:
If I have /home on a separate partition, is it possible to mount that /home partition on multiple distributions (Ubuntu, SuSE for example) on the same PC?
Hello,
I have tried various wireless hotspots now and it seems that every Motorola phone I try (Defy, Milestone) does not work with Ubuntu 11.04
Any other phone I try does (iPhone, HTC Desire,...
Hi I am beginning to think this is a problem with Motorola software/hardware. I have tried connecting to numerous friends Android hotspot with my Ubuntu 11.04 laptop, HTCs work, Samsung Galaxy S...
Same here.
I could connect with 10.10, but after the upgrade to 11.04 it stopped connecting.
I can, interestingly, connect to my friend's Android Hotspot on his HTC Desire.
I have posted...
Hello,
I can not connect to the Wireless hotspot (Android 2.2.1) on my Motorola Milestone with Ubuntu 11.04. I could on Ubuntu 10.10.
I can however connect to the HTC desire hotspot. I have...
Are you sure you clicked on the right part? You should see a list of Access Points when clicking on the network icon. If you know what your Router is called, it should appear there, then clicking...
Hello again,
I can't really find any info on my problem, my guess is, my kernel doesn't match the version of these drivers I am trying to build. Can anyone confirm that?
I tried that one and got:
mememe@mylaptop:~/Downloads/compat-wireless-2.6.39-rc6-1$ make
./scripts/gen-compat-autoconf.sh config.mk > include/linux/compat_autoconf.h
make -C...
