i finally found out why mine wasnt working.
i saw that i had a lot of kernels in ls/boot so as advises in bugs i did
sudo update-initramfs -u -k all
and finally it worked!!!!

you are talking about the version and not the filename, so what should be the command?
Is this wrong? "sudo update-initramfs -u -k 2.6.32-24-generic"
