    HFS+ Drive Help

Hello, I am having some trouble with an external HFS+ drive.

I was trying to mount it as read/write, and I tried something called "HFSPlus" and now I get this when I plug it in, or try to mount it:

"Error mounting: mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sdb1,
missing codepage or helper program, or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
    dmesg | tail or so
    "
If I can fix this, then, how can I mount it as read/write.
Also, I am using ubuntu 10.4, on a windows PC.

I also see this for the drive when using dmesg:
"[21439.901808] hfs: failed to load extents file"

Also, where are the rules for the forum, if they exist?
and should I post a "hello" thread?

    Okay, thanks

    EDIT:
Also, why does the DVD burner have to view each individual file to get the size?
it took it 1 hour just to start burning so I could be told it did not have enough space.

    Can I speed this up?
