Disable update on packages installed from sources

    Hi,

I would like to know if it is possible to disable apt-get's on a few packages I have compiled from sources : I have removed some ext from PHP and I don't want it to upgrade itself to a new version when there is one.

    Thanks

Yes, you can exclude certain packages from being updated.

Go to System > Administration > Synaptic Package Manager. Find the package you wish to exclude from updates, and click on it. From the Package menu, select Lock Version.

Great - if you get chance, could you use the Thread Tools menu at the top right of the page and mark the thread as [SOLVED], please?

    Thanks
