Choose custom power button action in Gnome Shell?

    Hi people,

I've recently moved to Gnome Shell, until 12.04 when i'll give Unity a fair chance, but there seems to be a few important system settings missing.

Does anyone know how i can change it so that when i press the power button on my laptop it goes to sleep, rather than shutting down as it does now? Thanks.

There are extensions for the Gnome and the " alternative status menu " will display the all the options . https://extensions.gnome.org/

You can press the ALT key while the user menu is open to display the power off option .http://live.gnome.org/GnomeShell/CheatSheet

Does noone know a solution? I don't understand why they take away a simple setting that has such a large effect.
